Our mission is to document, interpret, disseminate, and preserve the history of the
National Guard of Maryland for present and future members, historians, and the American
public.
We provide historical research support to the JFHQ/JTF; support mobilizing and
demobilizing units of the MDNG and an operationally deployed JFHQ (JTF); document wars,
contingencies, and significant events; prepare the JFHQ command history; manage field
history programs; manage lineage and honors, including unit heraldry; and manage the MDNG
historical property collection.
