Officer Candidate School Application Procedures

Step 1

  • Tell someone in your chain of command that you are interested in attending OCS or Contact 70th Regiment

    • Step 2

      Contact the 70th Regiment:

    Step 3

  • Gather the required document for the application packet and turn it in to the 70th Regiment as soon as possible (Traditional Program and Summer Accelerated Program)

    • Application Packet deadline NLT Phase Zero start date

    70th Regiment will compile packets but soldier and unit have to provide some of the documentation Packet Components:

    Soldier’s Responsibility:

  • Birth certificate (copy) or Proof Naturalization certificate
  • Autobiography
  • All college transcripts (official)
  • Social Security card (copy)
  • Court documents for criminal convictions (charge or disposition sheets)

    • Unit's Responsibility

  • OCS Application Form with Company & Battalion’s Signature
  • Company & Battalion’s Recommendation
  • APFT Card (DA Form 705) with passing score w/in past 12 months
  • Verification of height/weight (DA Form 5500 or 5501)
  • Medical / Dental Records with current Chapter 2 Physical
  • Enrollment in Phase 0 of OCS in ATRRS (School Code 994)
  • DD Form 214 or DD Form 220 (copy)

    • 70th Regiment Responsibility

  • Document indicating GT score (eg. DA Form 2-1)
  • Security Clearance (SF-86 completed using E-QIP initiated)
  • Security manager’s clearance verification/Secret or Interim Secret
  • Enlistment Contract (OCS Enlistment Option Only)

  • * If you are a college student w/ a degree and no prior service you can join the Army National Guard to become an Officer. Call a recruiter or call the 70th Regiment. The 70th Regiment can not process the application until the applicant joins the Maryland Army National Guard.
