COLONEL MARK A. TRACY
is the Chief of Staff for the Maryland Army National Guard. He is assigned to the Joint Force Headquarters at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore.
He functions as the senior federal full-time Army National Guard management official and serves as principal executive assistant and advisor on Army National Guard matters to the Maryland Army National Guard Commander.
As such, he is responsible for directing the administration, coordination, planning, execution and supervision of all Army National Guard programs.
These programs encompass over 5300 military members, and include nearly 1000 full-time employees. They are located in 40 armories, and 6 major state military reservations, which are spread throughout Maryland.
Colonel Tracy has over twenty-seven years of military service, which includes over 15 years of full-time service in the Maryland National Guard where he has held a number of leadership positions. Prior to his selection as Chief of Staff, he was assigned as the Director of Operations (G3), a position that he held for three years.
